Main Library Blue 1 reopens with improvements shaped by student feedback
Students returning to campus this academic year will find an improved Blue 1 study space in Main Library following a summer refurbishment designed to enhance accessibility, technology provision and the overall study experience.
The refurbishment was informed by feedback from students, who told us that access to power, accessibility and comfortable study environments are among the most important features of Library spaces. As a result, Blue 1 has been upgraded to better support a wide range of study needs and ways of learning.
What's new?
The refurbished Blue 1 space now includes:
- More height-adjustable desks, providing flexible and accessible study options
- Additional plug sockets
- Laptop docking stations
- New desks
Together, these improvements create a more accessible and flexible study environment that works for a wider range of students and study styles.
Your voice, our Library
The Blue 1 refurbishment is part of the Library's wider commitment to improving spaces and services in response to student feedback. From accessibility and power provision to layout and comfort, student perspectives continue to influence how Library spaces evolve to support learning and wellbeing.
Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback and helped shape these improvements. We look forward to welcoming students to the refreshed Blue 1 space this academic year.
