Students come together for 2025 CDT Conference
Students from the have come together for their annual CDT summer conference. The event took place over 3 days at the beautiful in Cheshire.
A number of guest speakers were invited from across academia and industry, providing opportunities for students to meet peers, network, and discuss cutting-edge research. The packed programme of events included student talks, guest speakers, poster sessions, and a question-and-answer panel with some of our alumni.

The students also visited during the conference where they had a fascinating talk on Jodrell Bank and the Space Race, exploring the role Jodrell Bank played in the Cold War鈥檚 Space Race, bridging a tense rivalry between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
Prizes were awarded for the best presentation and best poster. Best Presentation went to Francisco Selles for his talk 鈥淎tomic encoding in a sliding ferroelectric van der Waals heterostructure." Meanwhile, Best Poster went to Giulio Mausoleo for his poster 鈥減H-responsive silica-based ionic colloidal systems of poly(acrylic acid) water solutions.鈥
Congratulations to our winners and thanks have been extended to everyone involved. In particular, many thanks to the committee, who worked extremely hard to make the event a success.
